What Happened at Kamala Harris’s Pennsylvania Rallies?

It’s the final countdown. On the last Monday before election day, Vice President Kamala Harris had her heart set on Pennsylvania; she made five stops in the state, including two huge rallies in the evening filled with special guests like Oprah Winfrey and Katy Perry. In comparison, Trump focused on three states today with no formal announcement of any guest speakers ahead of the rallies. As the election season comes to an end, it’s time to disassociate party with some musical performances. Here’s what happened at Harris’s Pennsylvania rallies on Monday night.

Harris had a busy night on Monday— she made stops in Scranton, Allentown, and Reading before making it to her last two rallies in Rankin/Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. At the rally in Rankin that had more of a focus on musical performances, Katy Perry sang “Part of Me,” a cover of “The Greatest Love of All”, a shortened version of “Dark Horse,” and “Firework.” She did skip out on singing “Woman’s World” (et tu Perry?), but maybe it was better to go out with a banger like “Firework.” In her speech to the crowd, she cited her daughter’s future as her primary reason for voting for Harris. Perry explained, “Four years ago, I became a mother. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. Orlando and I welcomed our daughter, Daisy, and she is the reason I am voting for Kamala Harris. I’ve known Kamala since before she was a senator; I’ve always known her to fight for the most vulnerable, to speak up for the voiceless, and to protect our rights as women to make decisions about our own bodies.”

In Philly, Lady Gaga sang “God Bless America” and “Edge of Glory” and shared why it was important to her to support Harris. “For more than half of this country’s life, women didn’t have a voice. Yet we raised children, we held our families together, we supported men as they made the decisions — but tomorrow, women will be a part of making this decision,” Gaga shared.

Ricky Martin also joined the Philly rally to sing “Livin’ la Vida Loca” and will.i.am sang his new song, “Yes She Can.” Other performers included Jazmine Sullivan and The Roots.

Swift had different plans for the evening as she supported her boyfriend Travis Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Swift was not listed on the campaign schedule when it dropped on Sunday, so it’s unsurprising that she didn’t show up. Despite already announcing her support for Harris in early September, Swift reminded her fans to vote on Tuesday on Instagram, writing, “And here’s a friendly but extremely important reminder that tomorrow is the US Election and your last chance to vote.”
