Halloweekend 1 (of two this year) has come and gone. There were more Tashis than you could shake a tennis racquet at. Troye Sivans as far as the eye could see. Chappells and Chappies and Chappelles, oh my! Twitter celebrated the holiday with a joke about how hyperspecific costumes can get. “I hate gay Halloween,” one might say. “What do you mean you’re _____??” That blank was filled with all sorts of stuff. The tennis-ball POV from Challengers, Isabelle Huppert’s cat with the unknowable and unsayable name, the children dressed as Serge Gainsbourg on French TV.
