David Spade has a new big guy to be little next to. He and Theo Von are writing, starring, directing, self-producing, and self-financing a comedy called Busboys. “We are looking forward to gracing everyone with this comedy that no one asked for,” Spade said in a statement. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will star Von and Spade as friends in an Arizona border town “who mistakenly believe that becoming waiters will solve all of their problems.”

Both Spade and Von started in more centralized parts of entertainment — Spade with stand-up and SNL, Von on Road Rules — but now devote a huge chunk of their time to podcasting. Von especially has become a whole thing in the election, as it was one of the pods Trump went on during the campaign. His This Past Weekend pod is ranked fifth on Spotify. Spade has a podcast with his SNL buddy Dana Carvey, Fly on the Wall.

Production begins in LA (doubling for Arizona) in January. Does this mean Spade won’t be going to 30 Rock for the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special, or will they carve out some time in the schedule for that? Same question for Theo Von, but for the inauguration.
