Sarah Danser, who first competed on Discovery's Naked and Afraid in 2017, died Tuesday after being involved in a car crash on Sunday.

The reality TV veteran, who was 34, was a passenger inside a vehicle driven by her friend Sunday night in the Kahala section of Honolulu, according to Hawaii News Now. The friend, a 59-year-old male, lost control and struck a car that was parked.

Authorities said speed was a factor, but drugs and alcohol were not.

Danser was hospitalized in critical condition. Two other people involved — the driver and one of the two people in the parked car — were found in serious condition, the outlet reported. The fourth person declined treatment.

The Colorado native, who had lived in Hawaii for 12 years, died Tuesday.

The setting had worked for her lifestyle. Danser described herself on social media as a boat captain, a scuba diver, a survivalist, and a pirate.

She used her skills on the Discovery adventure series, in which competitors are challenged to survive in extreme environments without food, water, or clothing, but one survival item. Danser also appeared on its spin-off, Naked and Afraid XL. In 2023, she was part of the cast of the CW's competition Fight to Survive, according to IMDb.

Her father, Dan Danser, said she made a difference the lives of others — and his own.

"I think she saved my life once, diving in Indonesia," the elder Danser said.

Her employer, Island Divers Hawaii, paid tribute on social media: "Heavy hearts as we say goodbye to a good friend and great captain. Sarah brought such great energy to everyone she came in contact with. You will be greatly missed."
