Maybe You’ll Watch Megalopolis at Home?
It’s time to go back to the club Megalopolis — or honestly, based on the box-office numbers, it may just be your opportunity to see the movie for the first time, as it hits premium video on demand today. For $19.99, you can be in the New City of Rome for 48 hours.
Francis Ford Coppola’s self-financed fable has had quite the journey. It’s taken decades to fund and produce, it premiered at Cannes to some mixed reviews, its trailer had fake critic quotes (and was later pulled), and its theatrical run produced a whole lot of “flopolis” headlines. Still, Megalopolis managed to be one of the movies the internet can’t stop talking about. (Thank you, Aubrey Plaza as Wow Platinum and Adam Driver’s line delivery of “go back to the club.”) Now, you can see it for yourself and role-play as the fourth-wall-breaking reporter interviewing Driver’s Cesar Catilina. Real-life Adam Driver not included.
