Awards shows might be entertainment for us, but for celebs, these are work events. And Ariana Grande was certainly keeping busy at the 2025 Golden Globes, where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Wicked. Below, a play-by-play of everything that Grande did on the red carpet and in the room, from holding Cynthia Erivo’s finger and raising her eyebrows during Nikki Glaser’s monologue to reacting to “Pope-ular” and screaming for director Jon M. Chu.

Nikki Glaser joked during her monologue that she was nervous and needed to hold Grande’s finger. Naturally, the empath raised a hand …

… but then reached for her co-star and mouthed, “Hold her finger.”

Glaser joked that Harrison Ford said “indica” when asked whether he would rather work with Zendaya or Ariana. The punch line had Grande’s eyebrows jumping.

Glaser didn’t finish singing her Pope-themed parody of “Popular,” but Grande seemed to want to hear more.

While presenting, Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh acknowledged that they were confused by some of the praise they receive online. Grande and Erivo provided a visual aid from the audience when Yeoh mentioned “slaying the boots house down.” (That’s what we call working in queer media.)

After Wicked won the Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, the trio helped each other onstage.
