Brangelina is officially over, legally speaking. After eight years in the courtroom, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reached a settlement in their divorce, reports People. “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Jolie’s lawyer James Simon shared with People in a new statement. “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.” Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 after claiming he was abusive and drunk in front of their children while they were all on a private jet together.

While their divorce may be over, they still have other legal battles to attend to. Pitt is suing Jolie for allegedly illegally selling her shares of a winery they owned together, as they reportedly agreed to let the other approve of the sale; Jolie sold her shares to Tenute del Mondo in 2021. However, Jolie claimed in a legal complaint that Pitt would not allow her to sell her shares of the winery if she didn’t sign an expansion NDA that included details of their relationship; in May, she was required to produce “years worth” of NDAs between the couple. Most recently, a judge ruled that Pitt must disclose documents that would reportedly prove “years of abuse” and rejected Jolie’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit. There’s no court date set yet for the potential trial.
