Oscar-winning actress Ariana DeBose recovered like the live-performing pro she is after an apparent teleprompter glitch on stage at the 2025 Golden Globes.

As the West Side Story actress and Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan walked out during Sunday’s broadcast to present the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture to A Real Pain‘s Kieran Culkin, she paused for a brief moment before making a comically confused face as she stared into the camera in silence ahead of reading a line meant for host Nikki Glaser.

“Nikki Glaser: There were so many great movies this year,” DeBose said, laughing as she moved on and took the flub in stride. “You’re welcome!”

DeBose and Quan got back on track with the proper text in front of them, and presented the category without further hitch.

When Glaser returned to the stage after a commercial break, she read the same line DeBose recited moments prior, introducing a satirical musical segment combining musical moments inspired by Golden Globe-nominated movies Wicked and Conclave.

Entertainment Weekly reached out to representatives for the Golden Globes and DeBose for comment.

Other notable presentations from the ceremony included nominees Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley playing out a comical sketch inspired by their body-horror movie The Substance, as well as Kathy Bates presenting the award for Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Television Series to Baby Reindeer‘s Jessica Gunning, who previously cited Bates’ role in Misery as one she studied before portraying her own character in the Netflix limited series.

Other film winners who took the stage to accept prizes at the Golden Globes alongside the aforementioned Culkin included Best Supporting Actress winner Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) and Conclave screenwriter Peter Straughan.
