Tanner Meeting Jack Black Is the Best Thing From the Minecraft Press Tour

There’s always a silver lining to everything. For every press tour and movie tie-in that seemingly makes no sense (we’re looking at you, Young Sheldon x Minecraft sweepstakes), there’s a golden nugget to be found that radiates pure joy. And if you look that phrase up in an encyclopedia, you’ll see the bright and shining face of Tanner Smith of Love on the Spectrum. Kelly Clarkson, a woman who knows how to make you cry with either her songs or her heart, decided to surprise Tanner with meeting his hero, Jack Black, as a part of the promotion for A Minecraft Movie and the new season of Love on the Spectrum. Would Black have come onto the show anyway if he didn’t have a movie to promote? Honestly, yeah because it means he’ll get to meet Tanner. But lucky for him, Black got to kill two blocky chickens with one stone.

As Black surprised Tanner from behind the stage, Tanner ran up to him in open arms, screaming, “Jack! It’s you!” Tanner was the gentleman that he always is, telling Black he “looked good” and that he’s “so handsome.” Which is basically a switch to bring on the waterworks for anyone watching. The two immediately made plans to link up, with Black suggesting they lift weights together. Tanner tried covering his mouth to whisper to Black, “I’m gonna get your phone number so we can work out together,” but thankfully, the mics caught that delightful comment. Maybe Clarkson can use this moment as her final talk show tear-jerker because it will be impossible to top this. Unless she invites Connor from Love on the Spectrum, then we’re back in business.
