Dayle Haddon, a Canadian model and an actress who appeared in numerous films, has died at age 76.

Police in Solebury Township, Pa., announced that Haddon died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at the home of her daughter, Ryan Haddon, and son-in-law, Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Marc Blucas, in Bucks County, Pa.

“The investigation indicates a faulty flue and exhaust pipe on a gas heating system caused the carbon monoxide leak,” authorities said in a statement. “This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of carbon monoxide safety precautions in our homes.”

The police said they received a call early Friday morning from one of the house’s residents. When they arrived at the home, they found Haddon dead on the second floor of the building and 76-year-old Walter Blucas passed out on the first floor. He was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., where he is in critical condition and receiving treatment.

Two medics were also taken to Doylestown Hospital to be treated for carbon monoxide exposure.

A representative for Marc Blucas did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly‘s request for comment on Saturday.

Ryan Haddon remembered her mother in an Instagram post on Friday night. “The bright light that is Dayle has dimmed in this Earthly realm. Shining somewhere as radiantly as ever where it’s most needed, I have no doubt,” she wrote. “She was a woman in her power, yet soft and attentive to all. Deeply creative and curious, gifted with beauty inside and out. Always kind and thoughtful. In conversation, she could go to the deepest of places and also soar the highest heights of spiritual understanding. She held so many up, saw their greatness sometimes hidden to them, and always built bridges with her own connections to help them ascend. She was everyone’s greatest champion. An inspiration to many.”
