Spotify released the 2024 Wrapped today, as if your Instagram stories didn’t make that abundantly clear already. Some people were underwhelmed with the rollout (what, no little graphic saying you live in queer utopia Burlington, VT?), others questioned whether the comparatively late debut was due to the massive layoffs at the company. Meanwhile, Jimmy Kimmel was thrown into existential crisis. “These reports from Spotify have become a gentle yearly reminder than I’m white and that I will soon be dead,” he said on Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimmel’s top 5 artists were James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Doobie Brothers, and Zach Bryan. Security guard/sidekick/sponcon maven Guillermo’s top 5 artists were Heroes Del Silencio, Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Survivor, and Madonna. And his biggest Survivor song will surprise you. It’s not “Eye of the Tiger.” Wild shit.
