The Golden Bachelorette herself, Joan Vassos, has responded to Martha Stewart’s dig that she’d “absolutely” never do the series because “the guys aren’t hot enough.”

“Dating is hard out there, and I had a great group of guys. She doesn’t know them like i know them,” Vassos said on Access Hollywood.

“I guess Martha Stewart didn’t watch or didn’t see what i saw in them. Maybe you have to be in person but they were special guys,” Vassos reasoned. “I feel like everybody’s falling in love with them! What is wrong with you, Martha?”

Stewart made her comments on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live. When host Andy Cohen asked if she’d ever consider doing the show, she replied with a resounding “absolutely not.” When Cohen asked, “million dollars an episode?” Stewart simply shook her head.

The inaugural season of The Golden Bachelorette is currently on the air, which sees Vassos, 61, entertaining the attentions of a group of eligible senior suitors. Vassos is currently at the “hometowns” stage, closer than ever to the day where she’ll have to decide between Charles “Chock” Chapple, Guy Gansert, and Pascal Ibgui.

Vassos said she “got to know the inside” of the Golden bachelors “as well as the outside, so thoroughly. They’re great guys. The team did great job of picking them, because before I knew them, what they were about, their stories and their backstories, they were all so wonderful. They’re all there for a reason. When they got out of the limos that first night and they started walking towards me, every single one of them did something memorable and made me want to get to know them more.”

Stewart, meanwhile, is single. Last year she shared a bit of her dating philosophy with The Daily Mail, saying, “I think every beautiful girl should date.” When asked to share more, however, she joked, “I’m not going to give away my secrets actually!” That same year she made history as the oldest ever cover star of Sports Illustrated‘s annual swimsuit edition, at 81 years old.

The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
