One of the biggest race events in the entire world is the Daytona NASCAR weekend that just took place February 13/14. Over 35 million race fans watched the two main races over the weekend, live at the famous Daytona International Speedway in Florida, or live on national television. And then an estimated 50 million more also saw or read about the race highlights on sports or news television shows, and on racing websites, including the Interush ‘www.MySpeedwayRacer.com’

Stanton Barrett was once again driving the #31 Chevrolet, this time with the giant electronics retailer BEST BUY and Fuel Doctor as the primary sponsor. INTERUSH was also present in a secondary position on the rear side panels.

Also joining Stanton's team for BEST BUY/INTERUSH in the #41 Chevrolet was the NASCAR Nationwide debut of Chrissy Wallace, the 22 year-old daughter of famous race driver Mike Wallace, and the niece of driver Kenny Wallace, and cousin to Steve Wallace, all top NASCAR drivers. Chrissy and Danica Patrick were the only two females among the 43 drivers who qualified, creating a lot of attention for both Chrissy Wallace and Danica Patrick. They were only the 13th and 14th females to ever drive in NASCAR Nationwide race since its formation in 1982. All eyes were on these two females and the # 41 BEST BUY/ INTERUSH race car. With the cars still close together during the first lap, Chrissy’s car was struck from behind by Paul Menard at turn 4 and she slid across the track and slammed into the inside wall, however this brought even more attention to the car and driver.

Stanton Barrett was having an excellent race, when during his 67th lap, up ahead of him, two cars collided which expanded to claim 7 cars, including Danica Patrick and Stanton Barrett’s #31 BEST BUY/INTERUSH car. Of course this spectacular crash of so many cars was re-shown throughout the race and the next day on news shows to millions more.

Also competing in the 120-lap Nationwide race was iRacing.com’s spokesperson Dale Earnhardt Jr. who was also in a spectacular crash later on in the race that flipped the car upside down in his 91st lap. There is nothing quite like NASCAR racing where the drivers go as fast at 195 mph (310km/hr) only to crash into one another or the walls at these incredible speeds.

In the second NASCAR race, the Daytona 500 that ran on Sunday, iRacing.com’s spokesperson Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a tremendous race, coming up second, just 0.119 seconds behind Jamie McMurray who won the race. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is now considered one of the favorites in 2010 to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.
