2009.09.21(Mon)

Indy Lights Series driver, Leilani Munter, will be making her debut for Team 3G at the Homestead Miami Speedway on October 9th. She first appeared in the Indy Pro Series in 2008 and was only the 4th female to ever race in the Indy Pro Series.

With a background in stock car racing, she is an enthusiastic and competitive driver. Leilani competes in both NASAR and Indy Racing League sanctioned events. Leilani is mentored and coached by Jacque Lazier of Team 3G, the same dynamic team that legendary stuntman Stanton Barrett races for. In her racing career, Leilani has accomplished 9 Top 5 and 19 Top 10 finishes and even achieved the highest finish for a female driver in the history of Texas Motor Speedway at 4th place.

Interestingly, Leilani is the 4th daughter of a Hawaiian mother and German father, and was born and raised in Minnesota. One of her claims to fame is that she has been a photo and stunt double for actress Catherine Zeta Jones. Leilani also attained a degree in Cellular Biology from the University of California and is an environmental activist. For each race she completes, she adopts an acre of rainforest to help offset her carbon footprint. She has been featured in popular publications for her racing and her environmental work including USA Today, Glamour, Vogue, ESPN, Sports Illustrated and the Washington Post.

Leilani's sponsors include Women's Extenze, Novicomm and Ecobabble. Her race will air live on VERSUS. Learn more about Leilani Munter on her website.
